Hiking the Bruce Trail on the Bruce Peninsula

Fall Weekend or Midweek Hiking
on the Bruce Trail

As the escarpment winds its way down the Bruce Peninsula so does the famous Bruce Trail , offering hikers a chance to witness the incredible views and wonderful nature that the Biosphere provides.

The Bruce Trail starts its journey in Tobermory, and travels 773 km following the Niagara Escarpment. It is in the North Bruce Peninsula that the most spectacular hiking on the Bruce Trail occurs. The Bruce Trail was opened in 1967, and is Canada's longest hiking trail. The 150 km's of trails in the Bruce Peninsula are considered the best in Southern Ontario, and offer hiking for the beginner and veteran hiker.

All the trails on the Bruce Peninsula are clearly marked with white blazes, single if the trail follows straight ahead, double if there is a turn ahead. Blue blazes indicate a side trail, and may lead to lookouts or campsites.
