MICHAEL MARCOTTE A.O.C.A - APOLLO ART GALLERY & CAFE - VISIT WEBSITE HERE Apollo Art Productions Art Gallery & Cafe Michael Marcotte A.O.C.A: Artist/Owner Born in Val D'Or , Quebec ( Valley of Gold ) in 1973. Michael began his education in painting at the age of eight, with private oil painting lessons. In 1991 he began to study at the Ontario College of Art in Toronto , where he pursued training in classical materials, methods and techniques. In 1994, Michael began a year of study in Florence , Italy and graduated from O.C.A. with honors in Drawing and Painting in 1995 upon his return to Canada . By the summer of 1995, he registered Apollo Art Productions and began a career as an artist. The years followed with several studios, exhibitions, shows and private collections. The life of an artist becomes a map of many turns and side roads. In the late 1990's Michael began a secondary career as a Faux Finisher and a Muralist. He also began to teach art in his studio. In 1999, following another passion, he became a PADI Scuba Diving Instructor, which brought him to Tobermory, a scuba diving paradise. By October of 2002, after several winters of working in the Caribbean ( Dominica , St. Kitts, Statia, and St. Martin ), he purchased this hundred year old stone house. After almost three years of renovations he has been able to open his doors to the public to allow you to view his artwork. He awaits your arrival.  www.apolloartproductions.com
